That’s the main ideal from which Prof. Sebastiano Battiato, Dr. Antonino Paratore and Dr. Eng. Oliver Giudice, company founders, started to define the company strategies and objectives.
iCTLab's commitment is based on the will of changing the forensic world through research and constant training which has to be used to pursue the truth and fight crime.

Sebastiano Battiato is full professor of Computer Science at University of Catania. He received his degree in Computer Science (summa cum laude) in 1995 from University of Catania and his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics in 2000.
As Researcher and Professor at the University of Catania, he has been involved in research, scientific dissemination and teaching in the field of image processing, quality improvement, image compression and imaging applied to "digital camera" since 2000 .
He has worked as a consultant for the most important Italian public prosecutors, including those of Milan, Rome, Naples and Catania, on issues related to Imaging in the field of forensics.
Professor Battiato has published three books and more than 200 works in magazines, international conferences and book chapters.
Co-inventor of about 20 international patents, also carries out review activities for numerous international journals and has participated as a member of the program committees of numerous international conferences (ICIAP, VINEPA, ACIVS, VAAM, VISAPP, IWCV, ECCV...).
He is iCTLab's Founder and Scientific Advisor since 2016.
iCTLab is born as a spin-off of the University of Catania, from the research group IPLAB, which was already coordinated from Prof. Sebastiano Battiato.
The company, that is part of the Mathematics and Informatics Department of UniCT, is a reference point in the Forensic and Digital Forensics community. In his nature as a spin-off, it is even in itself his intense research activity that characterises iCTLab's innovative approaches towards its competence fields.
